Flash Flood Warning

I just got home from a meeting for my daughter's 4H.  The roads were flooded from the torrential rainfall we have recieved. We are expected to get 2 more inches.

Stormy, crazy, wet day!

Strong storms have been moving through our area featuring strong winds, torrential rainfall, and high wind.  Despite all the rain the temperature continues to hover around the ninety degree mark which means these storms will continue to fire and intensify into the evening.

I took a few high water and rain pics. Enjoy!

Moon Phase:  New Moon

Get ready for:

  • The crescent Moon joins Venus and Jupiter on the 19th and 20th, respectively, creating truly eye-catching conjunctions at dusk. This is a rare chance to see a triple conjunction of the three brightest objects in the night sky! After sunset near dusk, look towards the western horizon. (You'll need to find an obstructed view.) First you'll see bright white Venus. Nearby is a fainter yellowish Jupiter and the thin crescent Moon. "

On this day in 1953 in Prescott, Arizona, a dust devil- usually a harmless, mundane act of nature- injured 2 boys; one received a black eye and the other had two broken vertebrae when they were hit by debris thrown from the dusty menace.
